As you may know, Levi’s have teamed with Billy Reid for Fall 2010 as part of his win as GQ’s ‘Best New Menswear Designer in America.’ As part of that collaborative program, Levi’s and VBS.tv filmed a documentary down in Florence, Albama – Billy’s hometown and base – spotlighting local musicians of the famed Muscle Shoals studios.

The documentary in its entirety will be screened at Billy’s NYC boutique as part of his participation with Fashion’s Night Out, this coming Friday, September 10, 2010. In the meantime, we can show you a “vignette” trailer promoting the film, which of course showcases garments from the Levi’s Workwear by Billy Reid collection.

Making quite a stir in the contemporary art scene for his evocative, nostalgic tinged works, Edwin Ushiro returns for another gallery show in 2010, this time taking place at the Roq La Rue gallery in Seattle. Entitled “Preceding Sunday”, the exhibition will showcase a great new collection of mixed-media works from the Los Angeles-based artist. The opening reception is set for Friday, September 10th, 2010 (6pm-9pm).

Ron English’s post modern “popaganda” will be on display as the famed pop artist showcases over 100 new works via a special exhibition at New York City’s Opera Gallery. The show, dubbed Status Factory, will boast popular classics like The Circus of Subvertisment, The Memorial to Toy Soldiers, Camo Clowns, Camo Deer, and an Authentic Unicorn. An opening is set for this Sunday, September 12th at 3pm. The first 100 people will receive a free signed and numbered print.
